At the end of the 19th century, a Russian ship embarks strange crates filled with a foul-smelling earth. The ocean crossing is an ordeal for the crew: disappearances and suspicious deaths follow one another. Some speak of a ghost... When the ship finally reaches its destination in England, it looks like a floating wreck. As the port police set out to search for survivors, they come across an enormous half-man, half-wolf creature, which disappears as if by magic...
