This $2 proof sterling silver coin features a 24-karat gold-plated inner core composed of 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. The outer sterling silver ring contains 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. It has a diameter of 28 millimeters and weighs 8.83 grams. The reverse of the coin, designed by Tony Bianco, depicts the polar bear with its cubs. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by artist Dora de Pedery-Hunt.
