2022 $20 FINE SILVER COIN - QUEEN ELIZABETH II'S ROYAL MONOGRAM

For 70 years, it was one of the best-known symbols of the monarch and Canadian sovereignty. Featured on the insignia of Canadian orders, decorations, medals and crests, the royal cypher of Queen Elizabeth II has been preserved for posterity on the reverse of this 1 oz. 99.99% pure silver coin enhanced with 'a black rhodium plating, in honor of Queen Elizabeth II, the guardian of tradition who also brought the monarchy into the modern era.


Each piece is enhanced with black rhodium plating symbolizing mourning. The only silver patch is on the obverse, where the contrast between the silver effigies and the black rhodium plating highlights Queen Elizabeth II, and immortalizes her life and reign. On the reverse of the coin, the royal monogram is surrounded by shapes that evoke the golden pearls and clusters of precious stones adorning the crown of Saint Edward, used during coronations and that which is represented on the monogram of Queen Elizabeth II.

Marked with a small Tudor rose, the commemorative obverse combines the four effigies that have appeared on Canadian coins since the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. This obverse is only found on numismatic coins from the Queen's Reign collection Elizabeth II .
