The year 2015 marks the 100th anniversary of the publication of the poem In Flanders Fields, composed in May 1915 by the Canadian doctor and lieutenant-colonel John McCrae, immersed in the horrors of the Second Battle of Ypres. With this most moving poem, the author gave a voice to the 60,000 Canadians who died during the First World War and launched an international movement to perpetuate their memory.
