2016 $20 Landscapes-The Lake

The design is an artistic reproduction of Lake Magog, located in Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park. Playing on the light and shadows cast by the morning sun, the artist was able to render through his brushstrokes the many contrasts of the landscape, which have been reproduced in this finely detailed engraving. In the background, the famous pyramidal silhouette of Mount Assiniboine overlooks the lake and glaciers, its imposing altitude made evident by the space it occupies in the upper part of the design. At its feet, like a mirror, the lake sparkles in the dawn light, surrounded by the valley and the trees.

This $20 fine silver coin is the second in the Canadian Landscapes series.
